These data storage devices contain codes for the booting programs of operating systems of the computer. In the hard disk drive, the boot sector is located or it can also be found in floppy disks and other data storage devices. Data is read from or written to a platter which is driven by a spindle that is enclosed in a protective covering. The hard disk drive is a magnetic device used for storing data in a computer.
